OPV Maize Seeds

At Notore we understand that the combination of improved seeds and premium fertiliser is one of the key elements to increasing agricultural yields significantly. We have partnered with well-trained and highly motivated seed producers/contract growers to produce a variety of improved seeds to ensure high quality standards are met.

We produce Notore improved seeds using quality and approved breeder or foundation seed sources and we abide by all seed production regulations, both internal and external checks.
Our seeds are certified by the National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) (“the Nigerian seed police)

Sammaz 34

  • Type: Open Pollinated Variety (OPV)
  • Colour: white
  • Early maturity: 90 - 95 days
  • Yield: 5 - 6.9mt/ha
  • Multi-cob
  • Streak tolerant
  • Drought tolerant maize –stay green
  • Preferred Ecology: Sudan to Northern Guinea Savannah (Across the country)

Sammaz 15 (IWD)

  • Type: Open Pollinated Variety (OPV)
  • Colour: white
  • Medium maturity: 100 - 110 days
  • Yield: 4 - 6.9mt/ha
  • Streak tolerant
  • Tolerant to root and stalk lodging
  • Tolerant to Striga hermonthica
  • Preferred Ecology: Sudan to Guinea Savanna

Sammaz 52 (PVA SYN 13)

  • Type: Open Pollinated Variety (OPV)
  • Colour: Yellow
  • Medium maturity: 110 - 120 days
  • Yield: 5 - 6mt/ha
  • Provitamin A content: 9.8’g/g
  • Tolerant to maize streak virus, rust, leaf blight & curvularia leaf spot
  • Preferred Ecology: Northern Guinea & Sudan Savannah Ecologies
