Mrs. Vivien Shobo is an accomplished professional with an outstanding reputation and a proven track record in the Nigerian financial markets. For over a decade, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Agusto & Co, the foremost Pan-African credit rating agency. In September 2020, Mrs Shobo was honoured by the African Banker Awards Committee, winning the prestigious African Banker Icon Award. This recognition celebrated her exemplary career and transformative work at Agusto & Co, which was described as “truly pioneering and instrumental in shaping capital markets in Nigeria and beyond.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs Shobo previously served on several committees of the Securities and Exchange Commission as part of her contribution towards the development of the Nigerian capital markets. Notable roles include her participation in the Financial Literacy Master Plan Sub-Committee and membership in the Fixed Income & Investor Confidence Sub-Committees of the SEC’s Capital Market Committee (CMC). She is also a member of several other corporate boards of directors.
Mrs. Shobo is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. She has also attended management and leadership programs at esteemed institutions including Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School, and Lagos Business School.
Mrs. Shobo is committed to women’s leadership and is a lifetime member of WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business and Public Service), a non-profit organization that, over the last 20 years, has implemented programs that inspire, empower, and advocate for greater representation of women in leadership positions in the public and private sectors. She is also a member of the International Women’s Society.
