Matthias Ogwuche is a seasoned legal professional with a proven track record in corporate governance and compliance. He brings about fourteen (14) years’ cognate experience as a legal practitioner, nine (9) of which has been spent at the Legal and Governance Service Department of Notore Chemical Industries Plc. Prior to his current position, Matthias served as the Senior Legal Officer at Notore, where he was responsible for ensuring the Company’s adherence to Regulatory and Statutory requirements. His experience includes organizing Committees, Boards, and Annual General Meetings, demonstrating his strong organizational and leadership skills.

His expertise extends to various legal matters, including drafting and reviewing legal Agreements, analyzing legal risks, proffering strategic advice that mitigates these risks, and successfully navigating complex corporate transactions. He was pivotal to the successful listing of the Company on the Main Board of the Nigerian Exchange Limited on 2nd August 2018. Additionally, he was a key team member that secured a US$37 million loan from the Africa Export-Import Bank on 31st December 2019. This fund was instrumental in the Turn Around Maintenance of the Company’s Fertilizer Plant. He played a central role in the compliance and documentation aspect in the recently concluded N105 billion Private Placement transaction of the Company, a demonstration of his ability to manage intricate legal processes.

Matthias is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Society for Corporate Governance, Nigeria. He holds a Certificate in Company Secretary Practice and Optimum Productivity from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Nigeria and a Corporate Governance Certificate of Attendance from the Nigerian Exchange Limited. His participation in numerous other courses and conferences demonstrates his ongoing professional development.
