While efforts to contain COVID-19 continue to evolve, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have recommended basic protective measures against the spread of the virus, some of which include washing hands regularly, avoiding touching the face, practicing respiratory hygiene, and avoiding handshakes.
Â
In line with these recommendations and guidelines, Notore has also taken extensive proactive measures to adapt our operations to further safeguard our community:
Â
Social Distancing
The case for social distancing as an inhibitor to the spread of the virus is clear. Members of our community are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines in their interactions, including avoiding large gatherings of people and close body contact at all times.Â
Following the latest developments, personnel at Notore’s Lagos and Abuja offices are working remotely, and provisions have been made to protect essential personnel at our Onne complex who are unable to work remotely. There is currently a restriction of visitors to all Notore premises; suppliers and other key stakeholders are encouraged to interact with the Company via emails and telephone. Scheduled events and meetings with gatherings of ten or more people have been cancelled or rescheduled until further notice, and alternative platforms such as tele-/video-conferencing are being utilized.Â
Frequent hand washing is encouraged, and hand sanitizers have been provided at entrances to our offices and facilities.
Â
Restriction of Travel
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has declared that all airports in Nigeria are closed to all international flights with the exception of emergency and essential flights.
Â
Self-Isolation
Employees and members of our community who have recently travelled to or received visitors from any of the countries where the virus is endemic and considered high-risk areas are required to self-isolate for a period of two weeks to prevent the spread of infection. The same applies to those with family members in the same household returning from these countries.
Â
Temperature Checking
As a precautionary measure, prior to entry into any of Notore’s offices, there will be temperature checks prior to admittance. Should an individual’s recorded temperature be 38°C or above, he/she will be denied entry and advised to immediately return home, self-isolate and contact their hospital and the NCDC. The toll free number of the Centre is +234 800 9700 0010.
