Notore has been at the forefront of driving positive change in the agricultural sector, empowering farmers and communities alike.

1981
NAFCON

National Fertiliser Company of Nigeria (NAFCON) was incorporated as a joint venture between the Federal Government of Nigeria -70% -and Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) -30%

1987
PRODUCTION OF FERTILISER

Plant commenced the production of fertiliser and was subsequently officially commissioned with a design capacity of 1,500 MT/d of urea.

1996
DECLINE OF NAFCON

NAFCON began to decline.

1999
SHUTDOWN OF NAFCON

NAFCON was shut down following key equipment failure.

2005
NOTORE TAKEOVER

O’secul Nigeria Limited won the bid to acquire the assets of NAFCON for $152M USD in an asset purchase transaction under the privatisation programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Notore Chemical Industries Limited took over assets of NAFCON.

2006
CONTRACT SIGNING

Notore signed Gas Supply Contract for 20 years with Nigerian Gas Company.

2007
FACILITY RAISE

Notore raised a record $222M USD facility from a syndicate of Nigerian Banks.

2008
FIRST SHIP ARRIVAL

Dredging of the private jetty was completed and the first Ship arrived at the Notore Jetty.

2009
PRODUCTION BEGAN

Production of ammonia commenced in January. Production of urea commenced in July.

Notore and Taraba State signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a rice mill.

Notore and Cross River State signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a rice mill.

2011
AGREEMENT SIGNING WITH TATA CHEMICALS

Notore signed a Technical Advisory Service Agreement (TASA) with Tata Chemicals Limited of India.

Notore is named Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2011, West Africa Region.

Notore Seeds secures license to operate as a seeds company.

Notore leads the way: Introducing 1kg and 10kg Fertilizer Bags, breaking new ground.

2012
JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT (JVA) WITH MITSUBISHI CORPORATION

Notore signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan to build a new plant on the current facility premises in Onne.

Notore wins customer service excellence award.

NECA-NSITF lauds Notore for exceptional workplace safety culture

Notore achieves annual urea production of 370,000 MT

AFRICAN CENTRE FOR SUPPLY CHAIN HONOURS NOTORE
  • African Centre for Supply Chain honours Notore with the 2013 Supply Chain Excellence Award

    Notore introduces its first cassava-specific fertliser blend.

    Established a partnership with Cocoa Research Institute

LISTING BY INTRODUCTION ON THE MAIN BOARD OF THE NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

Notore successfully concludes Listing by Introduction on the main board of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
